Saltwater pearls

Saltwater pearls grow in pearlfish that live in saltwater. This is particularly the pearl oyster Pinctada fucata martensii, which is the home of the most famous Akoya marine pearls. Pearls are divided into several species according to their place of origin, such as Akoya, Tahiti, South Sea or Sea of Cortez. Pearls have a long history and have always been considered a symbol of wealth, elegance and nobility.

Saltwater pearls are usually more expensive, have a high luster, regular shape and beautiful colors.
