Black pearl – a symbol of elegance and originality
Black pearls are divided into two groups – naturally colored and dyed pearls. The only black pearl with a completely natural color is the Tahitian pearl, originating from the lagoons of French Polynesia. Other black pearls, whether freshwater or saltwater, are dyed to achieve the desired dark tone while preserving their natural luster and quality.
Cultivating black pearls requires exceptional care and precise conditions. In the case of Tahitian pearls, the black pearl grows inside the Pinctada margaritifera oyster, which produces pearls with a thick nacre layer and a beautiful metallic sheen.
The size of black pearls usually ranges from 8 to 15 mm. Smaller pearls appear elegant and mysterious, while larger ones stand out as bold and luxurious.
