Claims for Pearl Jewelry – Important Information

At Buka Jewelry, we want your pearl jewelry to bring you joy for many years. Pearls are natural, organic materials and require gentle care. If damage occurs for any of the reasons below, your claim may not be accepted.

When a claim may not be accepted

1. Improper care or use

  • exposure to perfume, hairspray, cosmetics (including natural cosmetics), aggressive chemicals or cleaners,
  • water exposure (showering, bathing, sauna, thermal water, chlorinated or salt water),
  • prolonged exposure to direct sunlight, frost, or high humidity.

2. Mechanical damage

  • scratches on the nacre due to contact with other jewelry or hard surfaces,
  • cracks or deformation caused by impact or drops,
  • damage to metal components (clasps, posts, chains) due to rough handling.

3. Wear and tear from normal use

  • loosened or stretched knots in strung necklaces/bracelets (after some time, restringing is recommended),
  • minor changes in color or luster inherent to organic materials,
  • light signs of wear that are not material defects.

4. Unauthorized interventions

  • attempts at home repairs, gluing, or cleaning with unsuitable products,
  • modifications performed outside an authorized service or jeweler.

5. Condition of the item when claiming

  • for jewelry that is heavily soiled and clearly lacks proper maintenance, the claim may be rejected,
  • a claim may also not be accepted if the item is not returned in its original condition (e.g., missing parts or accessories supplied with the jewelry).

6. Neglect or intentional damage

  • long-term improper storage (e.g., a damp bathroom),
  • intentional damage or careless handling.
